The loss of a loved one

I've lost plenty of people too. Why should my pain be less important just because they're still alive?

There's certain people I've jokingly referred to as "dead", simply because they've changed too much, because they're no longer the person they used to be. In that sense, it's like they died and were replaced by someone completely different.
